Your Road Home

Get to know our process and what to expect!

Your home is one of the most important purchases you will make in your lifetime, and Stonefield Homes will be with you on this exciting journey. From assisting you in selecting your lot to familiarizing you with the features of your new home, we strive to keep you as informed and involved as possible. This step-by-step guide will give you an overview of the path to homeownership.

1. FIND YOUR PERFECT HOME

The first step with Stonefield Homes is selecting your home! Your New Home Consultant will walk you through the availability of home plans and structural options in your desired community and answer any questions you have before making your final decision.

2. SECURE YOUR NEW HOME

Once you have decided on your floorplan choice for your new home, your New Home Consultant will guide you through each step of your Sales Agreement to ensure you have a complete understanding of everything that is being covered in the documents and agreements. At this point, you will sign your Sales Agreement and secure your new home with an Earnest Money Deposit. Now it’s official, and the pathway to home ownership begins!

3. OBTAIN LENDER APPROVAL

Stonefield Homes has selected an established and knowledgeable lender to assist you with the financing of your new home. We know this is one of the most important steps in the process, so we want to ensure you have a team that stands with you to answer all your questions, solve any concerns, and help you find the loan that is best suited to your needs. Your lender contact will be in communication throughout the process to ensure that all financing needs are met prior to closing. Learn more here:

4. DESIGN GALLERY APPT

Within just a few days of signing your Sales Agreement, you will be contacted by an Interior Designer to arrange a private meeting where you will make decisions for your new home from faucets to flooring and everything in between. In order to offer you a comfortable amount of time to choose and finalize your selections, we have arranged two multi-hour appointments with the Designer. Feel free to browse Pinterest, Houzz and Instagram in advance to find inspiration for your new home!

5. PRE-CONSTRUCTION CONFERENCE

Once your structural and design decisions are finalized, your New Home Consultant and Construction Manager will meet with you for one final review before construction begins. This is where you review your selected plan, options and review and orientation of your home on your chosen lot. This is a great opportunity to ask questions about the “nuts and bolts” of your home and to better understand the construction process.

6. PRE-DRYWALL CONFERENCE

Depending on the progress of your home when you signed your Sales Agreement, your Construction Manager will contact you to schedule an on-site meeting once the walls are framed and all mechanical systems are in place. This conference allows you a unique look into your home and is when you will verify the location of the outlets and switches in your home, as well as see some of the construction features that set Stonefield Homes apart.

7. VISTING THE CONSTRUCTION SITE

It is exciting to see the progress of your home, but your safety comes first! If you choose to visit the construction site, you must first arrange to be accompanied by your Construction Manager or New Home Consultant. At Stonefield Homes, your safety is our number one priority, so we ask that you always wear close-toed shoes, and a hard hat, which your Construction Manager or New Home Consultant can provide. Please do not enter your home without a Stonefield Homes representative with you. To keep you informed, your New Home Consultant and/or Construction Manager will provide regular updates on the progress of your home.

8. CLOSING DATE ANNOUNCEMENT

As the completion of your home nears, a Stonefield Homes representative, from the corporate office, will contact you to schedule your closing date. Your lender and the title company will be notified, as well. Our goal is to provide a closing date approximately 30 days prior to completion.

9. NEW HOME PRESENTATION

The New Home Presentation is an introduction to your new home and its many features. Your Construction Manager will demonstrate the features of your home, review the warranty process with you and answer any questions you may have at this meeting. This is also the time to document any areas of concern that will require attention. It is always our goal to resolve any and all concerns prior to closing.

10. CLOSING ON YOUR NEW HOME

It’s time to sign your final loan documents! Along with your lender, the title company will guide you as to what to bring to the closing table. At this appointment, you will sign your final documents to purchase the home and, upon funding, we will hand-off the keys to YOUR new home and welcome you to the Stonefield Family!
